Running HazCom on a Pavement Crew — Supervisor Guide
How a crew leader or foreman keeps the Hazard Communication program alive on a mobile crew: the written program, the chemical list, SDS access in the field, labels, training new hires and new products, PPE issue, hot material controls, first aid readiness, and spill response.
You will be able to
- List the parts of a hazard communication program and who owns each on a crew.
- Keep SDSs reachable in the field and current when products change.
- Train a new hire and the whole crew on a new product before first use.
- Issue and enforce PPE from SDS Section 8.
- Set hot material, flammable, first-aid, and spill controls for each job.
