Internal Traffic Control for Lot Work — Supervisor Guide

How a crew leader or foreman builds and runs an internal traffic control plan for a parking-lot sealcoat, crack seal, or striping job: roles, vehicle paths, lot closure, public and pedestrian control, night work, and what to do after a close call.

You will be able to

  • Build a one-page internal traffic control plan for a lot job.
  • Assign the spotter, entrance watch, and plan owner roles.
  • Set up lot closure that follows MUTCD Part 6 basics.
  • Run a close-call review that changes the plan.
