OSHA Competent Person Overview

OSHA's explanation of the term competent person as used across its standards: someone able to identify hazards and with authority to correct them. Several rules that touch pavement work, including silica and excavation, call for a competent person on site. Owners should understand what the term requires before assigning the role to a foreman.
